Who are we?
people for pets is a non-profit group based in Vermillion, South Dakota, we are just citizens concerned about the deaths
of dogs caused by the Vermillion Police Department. The group is lead by Terri Peterson and Julie Hammontree, Terri had
her dog, Patches, shot to death by 5 (maybe 6) shots by a police officer.
What do we want?
We want to raise 4,000 dollars, for a net gun for the Police Department and animal control to use instead of guns on
animals.
How do we plan to achieve this money?
We wish to get 1,000 dollars from the city, 1,000 dollars from businesses, 1,000 dollars from groups and organizations,
and raise 1,000 dollars through fundraising.
Are we working with or against the city of Vermillion?
We are cooperating wit the Vermillion Police Department on this as we understand that if we are to expect any cooperation
from them, we need to do the same.
How do you, the one reading this, help in this cause?
at the moment we do not have a way to send money through long distances, but if you live in Vermillion, look up Terri
Peterson in the phone book, giving a phone number over the Internet is risky since we do not have an office to send calls
to.
